Deltasound welcomes our new Rob
We are simply delighted to tell you all about our new 4th member. Rob Payne joins us on synths and backup guitars, and fitting in wonderfully he truly is. Rob has been a friend of all of us for many years now, and you might recognise him from Odd Shaped Head & So What Robot where he hits the tubs with his bare hands. You'll get your first chance to see the new Delta-lineup on 11th February at The Bridge Hotel (see our facebook page for more details) where he'll be bedding himself in on some of the set. See you then.
Happy New Year to you all! As a special festive treat we are now streaming a new song 'Probably'. The song will feature on our new single which is to be released in late Spring - we hope you enjoy it and would love to know your thoughts. Click here to listen to 'Probably' and here to tell us what you think.
We'll be playing live again in February - full details coming soon.

It was reggae legend, questionable one-hit-wonder and current marijuana legalisation activist Pato Banton who in the 90s said "Baby come back". He also said "Bring back me CD collection" and "I'll cry mon" but that's by the by. Fact of the matter is Deltasound was our baby - our creation, our passion and - at times - our life, and so it came to pass that during the first few months of the year of our lord 2010 we all found ourselves at a bit of a crossroads. After many discussions and a lot of soul searching we decided that rather than carrying on unable to do much, risking the band just withering away, we'd put a full stop on it and leave whatever legacy we carved for ourselves to the winds of time. That journey which started out in the depths of an underground Newcastle practice room in late 2006 and took us to the far ends of the British isles, leading us to many, many great people and many great, great times culminated in a triumphant and fitting final gig at World Headquarters on April 16th 2010.
In truth this didn't last long - Lady Fate had bigger plans for us and like a giant boot to our collective Delta-arse a new opportunity - and a new lease of life - came a-knocking. With the last gig looming we were approached by fresh faced North East indie label Vivid Records. They talked to us about why exactly we really wanted to give this up and pointed out that as a band, and as individuals, this is a part of who we are, and even though life throws many challenges your way, some things are just part of your being. I am pleased to say that I am joined in this band by two other people that share in this, and as such we decided to start again. It is one of the most important things in all our lives. We were never going to be a band that just practiced every now and then and would play the odd gig here and there, this was a massive part of us and while it seemed like a good idea at the time, we all knew deep down that we wouldn't be able to stay away for it for long. So when Vivid approached us in the manor of the aforementioned Mr Banton and said "baby come back", we simply had to oblige.
So here we are. Currently holed up working our jewels off writing a whole new body of work, we have currently demoed several songs, and are going to be recording the final versions of these in a mansion in the deepest depths of Northumberland over the coming months. We will be releasing these through Vivid Records as singles, and will follow this with our debut album in 2011. We will be doing some gigs and more than likely be doing some touring and hopefully some festivals over the next year, so please stay tuned for these updates. Get on that there Twitter and we'll let you know what we're doing before we're even doing it.
Thanks for reading - we love you all and will see you soon.
It's fucking great to be back.
